Hotspot – Always Have a Backup Plan

Lake Ontario – N 43° 48.626′    W 79° 04.291′

Today’s Hotspot is a fish magnet all year round but it really excels when Lake Ontario turns cold. The waypoint on your screen will get you there.

We fished this spot when the main lake temperature was in the fifties, while the outflow from the power station is well into the sixties.

Both baitfish and gamefish are attracted to this area. Try sweet corn on boilies for Carp, and small drop shot baits or live baits for the Smallmouth. Remember to bring a pair of polarized glasses as you will be amazed just watching fish swim by.
