Fish Talk – Pattern Of The Day

Hiya folks,

The pattern of the day. That’s what I want to talk about today, folks. Every time you catch a fish, look where it’s hooked onto your lure.

If I was throwing a little jerkbait for Smallmouth Bass and I caught a Smallmouth on the back treble? Now, it’s good that I caught the fish, but I notice it was caught on the back treble—the fish probably nipped it as it was following it. You know you’re dialled in when the fish has it totally in its mouth. So if I caught a Smallmouth just now and it was on the back treble, and I was ripping it fairly quickly, maybe I would make longer pauses; maybe I’d move to a slightly smaller bait or try a different colour.

What you always want to do is have that fish really well secured. So look again where you’re hooking the fish and then make the necessary adjustments.
