Fish Talk – Exactly The Same Thing

Hiya folks,

A few years ago Al Lindner, a good friend of mine, came up and joined us in the wintertime and we out for Lake Trout. That one day we got 36 Lakers. The smallest was six pounds, and we got two 16-pounders. Al caught 18 of the fish.

One of the fellas on that trip did not get a bite that day. I’m sure he went home at the end of the day and said, “I was doing exactly what Al was doing. I had my white tube, I had my sonar. In fact, we were fishing side by side. Al must be luckier than I am!”

The fact of the matter is luck has nothing to do with it. It’s the little details. Things like line size. If he’s using 6 lb test, you better not be using 8. If he’s jigging slowly, you better not be jigging quickly.

Watch what the successful angler is doing and then do exactly the same thing. When you do, there is no difference in the catch rate.
